About Barnaby
Barnaby Brooks Jr. is a Hero. No really, it's his job. He works for a company known as Apollon Media, and he saves people and takes down bad guys on camera for points.
He is known as a NEXT in his world, a human with powers that make him more powerful that other humans (or, as some normal humans think, less human than they are). His powers are the same as his partner, Kotetsu's--the ability to increase all his physical attributes by a hundred-fold for five minutes... and then he needs to rest for an hour. But with the right strategy, five minutes is all he really needs.
However, in Scorched his powers will be changing.
Spoilers for part of the show?
They will slowly fade, just like Kotetsu's did in the show. For those unfamiliar with the canon, first Kotetsu had a brief moment when his powers surged and were far stronger than normal--and then over the course of several months, he slowly lost seconds until he was down to not quite 4 minutes worth of power. Barnaby's powerloss will happen much faster than that, over the course of two to three months. At the end, when his powers are completely gone, he will discover he has a new power--that of another NEXT in the show, a man named Jake. He had the ability to summon shields by clicking his fingers together. He could use them offensively, by shooting them away from his body, and defensively--though he mostly used them offensively. He also was able to vary the size of his shields, from so small they were mistaken for bullets to large enough to shield his entire body.
In other news, Barnaby isn't the most emotionally or even mentally stable, due to certain things that happened in his canon regarding his memories. So that'll make mist-caused hallucinations even more fun :|b
